Welcome to the September 2011 Newsletter which you will see has a special focus on the Scottish Learning Festival. Please note that all special offers are available to those schools who are unable to attend SLF.

What to look out for at SLF -This year at SLF, SS4E will be on the Academia Stand, Stand D1, and we would like to encourage you to come along and say hello!

  • Kudlian Software will be joining XMA and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about I Can Animate and I Can Present. Pupils from Gavinburn Primary School will be on the stand filming and editing their own projects for you to watch.Stand F15
  • Academia will be showcasing Apple and Avid Technology for the classroom. For a sneak preview check out this video. Also did you know that Academia is on the Scotland Excel Framework Agreement for Educational Software and cansupply discounted software and licensing. They can also supply hardware and training solutions to UK academic institutions and charitable organisations.Stand D1
  • Smart Technologies - over the two days you will be able to talk to theSMART Exemplary Educators, see how 3D can enhance teacher and learning, get hints and tips for using SMART Notebook learning software an insight into new technologies and Curriculum for Excellence.Stand G15
  • Espresso Education is demonstrating how its Espresso Primary Service supports Curriculum for Excellence. At the festival, visitors will be able to personally test out Espresso Primary and take advantage of a four week free trial. As an added bonus, Express is offering the chance to win a Spa Weekend worth £500 - all you have to do is visit the Espresso Education Stand to be entered into the prize draw.Stand E10

For example Eddie Mack has been invited to join Autodesk's Teacher Advisory Council which will allow him to contribute to the expanding range of curricular resources Autodesk provides for the Education Community Worldwide
  • The ASE Scotland programme preview is now available and to see what's happening in your area please click here
  • BrainPOP UK have introduced a new area called Graphic Organiser - a collection of ready to use PDFs including Concept Maps, Compare Maps, Story Mountain Map and lots more
  • Kudlian Software have moved offices and are now based at The Grange, 37 Alcester Road, Studley, Warwickshire B80 7LL
  • Rising Stars are looking for a number of schools to trial an innovative and creative new ICT resource -Switched on ICT.
