  • Free Online Gaelic lessons for all schools from Languagenut- Languagenut has announced that it will make its online Gaelic lessons available to every primary school in Scotland, free of charge. This initiative will provide every child in Scottish education with the provision to learn their native Celtic language free of charge for the next three years.
  • Making the Curriculum for Excellence REAL - Hosted by RM Educationalists in the RM REAL Centre, Edinburgh, these sessions are designed to promote discussion about what engaging, motivating and inspiring learning means within a context of Curriculum for Excellence. Sessions run each day from 9 am - 11am, 11.30am - 1.30pm or  2pm - 4pm. The REAL Centre is open from 7th November until 22nd November only. The sessions will be of interest to Senior Leaders and to any schools that are planning rebuild or refurbishment projects. To book your place, click here

  • The inauguralFour Nations Maths Challengeis a FREE competition that will see students involved in a huge online UK maths spectacular and is the official lead up event to the World Education Games 2012.Every single school in the UK is invited to take part and join in a celebration of numbers as children from the four nations unite in their quest to reach the top of the leader board by answering thousands of maths questions. Schools and students can register here
  • Great Bug Hunt - School children can get close up with the world of creepy crawlies by entering next year's Great Bug Hunt competition. The Association for Science Education's learning resource site schoolscience.co.uk has teamed up with Martin Rapley to take science learning out of the classroom and bring it alive in the outdoors. The competition is now returning by popular demand for its second year in 2012.
  • Have your pupils gotThe ComiX Factor?- Renaissance Learning have teamed up with the National Literacy Trust and the Etherington Brothers to launch The ComiX Factor - a fun new competition for UK primary and secondary schools based around the power of comics and graphic novels to motivate reluctant writers.
