  • Free Online Gaelic lessons for all schools from Languagenut- those attending the AHDS  Annual Conference on 3rdand 4thNovember can sign up for their access to the free online Gaelic resources from Languagenut. For those of you who are unable to attend the conference, you can sign up here

  • New from Learning Unlimited -Supporting Cooperative Learning in Pre 5, Primary and Secondary Schools.Written by a classroom teacher for classroom teachers, this new publication will support and inspire you to make the most of cooperative learning in your classroom
  • Reading Eggs from 3P Learningis an online program where children learn to read.  It supports each child's learning by offering individual, one-to-one lessons that allow children to progress at their own rate. The program teaches pupils the key elements of phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. Research-based, instructional activities teach pupils how to use grapho-phonemic knowledge in order to decode words, blend sounds all the way through the word and segment phonemes for spelling. Curriculum for Excellence

 

  • BrainPOP UK- all BrainPOP UK animated movies and quizzes are mapped to Curriculum for Excellence and using DeepBeep their curriculum matching tool, you can quickly and easily find a movie to meet your needs. This month's spotlight is Managing Your Money and December's Spotlight is Weather or Not. Sign up for a free trial.
  • Espresso Primary- alignment to the Curriculum for Excellence is underway! Starting with the Scottish maths curriculum, Espresso Primary is linking the CfE to relevant resources on the service. This is just the beginning of the project. In future months, other subjects will be added and subscribers will see Espresso resources aligned to areas of CfE.   • TRIP resource (Transitions Information and Planning resource) is on online resource which has three main purposes - to help young people with complex needs to make well informed decisions about life after school, to encourage the development of learning opportunities be showcasing good practice and provide information and resources for the transition journey
  • You can now download and try out a FREE sample unit of Rising Star's Switched on ICT.   • Win dance training and resources for your school! imovesdance.com's dance competition for schools is looking for the best dance performance by a school in the UK.  There are two categories: 7 - 11 years and 12 - 16 years.  All you need to do is film your best school performance which should last around 2 - 3 minutes and send in a copy on DVD to imovesdance.  Closing date is 16th December 2011
  • Watch popular children's authors and win with Read to a Million Kids! - over 50,000 children across the UK already enjoying specially recorded videos of popular children's authors reading from their best-selling books. Visitors to the site can already watch videos of Tommy Donbavand, Lou Kuenzler and Dan Freedman and many more authors, such as The Etherington Brothers and Sophie McKenzie, are still to come!
